Balance

One of the hardest things for me
Is trying to find a balance.
I usually tend towards the worldly –
Bills to pay,
Chores to do,
Errands to run,
Things to check off my list.
But what happens when I fall
The other way? –
And I only want
To worship,
To study,
To serve?
When is it to the detriment of a functioning life?
Too much that way can’t be good either,
Since life and its challenges
Were given for a reason.
I’m such an all or nothing person,
Perhaps my challenge is
Living to my fullest for my Maker –
While still fulfilling my tasks.
As of today,
I have failed miserably.
But –
I hear prayer works wonders
For failures.
