It was difficult for me to get into this story – the first few pages didn’t grab me, but I decided to keep reading since I liked the concept. As I read, there seemed to be an interesting story, but the author kept getting in her own way. There was far too much focus on hair treatments, wardrobe changes, food restrictions, and music sessions to hold my attention at the beginning. Every time I began to get interested, I needed to wade through a page or more of one of irrelevant details before getting back to the story.
That said, IT’S WORTH IT. The book is a wonderful story, and I truly feel in love with the characters. The reveal at the end didn’t really surprise me, but I wasn’t upset. I enjoyed the journey of the book and will look forward to more of Jennifer Zamboni’s tales.
