The Last Dragonslayer by Jasper Fforde
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
I’ve read this book before, but it was right when it was published – before there were any other books in the series. I’d forgotten about it for a while until I was looking for books for my daughter’s birthday and remembered it’s a YA book! Jasper Fforde is my favorite author, so I was excited to share his work with my tween. She devoured the book in just a few days, reading every moment she got. Once she was finished, she couldn’t wait to discuss it with me, but unfortunately, I couldn’t remember the details, so I reread it. Fforde’s books are incredibly difficult to put down, and since this was geared at a (slightly) younger audience, it went even faster than usual. I finished reading in one day (I may have even “forgotten” to make dinner for my family.). This book is fun, light-hearted, creative, and an easy read. It’s great fantasy, and I highly recommend it, especially for tweens/teens.
