Fourth and final book in series

My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Jasper Fforde is easily my favorite writer, and books like this are the reason. The final book in The Last Dragonslayer series puts the perfect cap on these delightful YA stories. I bought the first three books for my daughter’s birthday, and she tore trig them, then begged for the final book. Luckily for her, she started reading this year, so she didn’t have long to wait (I’d read the first book when it was released, so I’d been waiting a while!). The book was the one thing she wanted for Christmas, and she spent half of Christmas reading it.
As a parent, I’m delighted that Fforde has provided a quality book for teens that doesn’t hold back on difficult topics or on wit. Even better, I’m glad we can share the experience of reading a series together unsure which of us enjoys it more.
P.S. I laughed so much at the fourth wall break. Absolutely brilliant, and a perfect example of why.
