This week was crazy busy, so I got very little reading and writing done (mostly just some edits on Zombie Love). My son’s birthday was last week, so we took him to the arcade for a few hours then let him pick dinner. A few days later, we had his first real birthday party since Covid! We had the party completely outside, and for the first time, we rented a bounce house, which was aa huge hit. We served hot dogs and sides, and by the end of the party, we’d given away 29 goodie bags to kids! Many stayed for the whole time, but some just drove by to say hello. It was a super fun day, but completely exhausting for this introvert.

I also went to watch my son’s friend on Monday morning, which was a blast. Three year olds are so fun. I also got to hang out with her for a bit, which was great.

Monday night was my writing group. We’d delayed it by a week because 2/4 of us were unavailiable to meet. It was great catching up with the other ladies, and the feedback they gave me on The Epi was invaluable. We had a great time discussing AI, buy-nothing groups, cozy mysteries, scifi, and Christmas. Love my writing group so much.

In terms of reading, I read Cinder in 2 days. It was a super easy read – I guessed the plot twist on page 44 – but it was still enjoyable. I also started Prayer in the Night, which is a tough read because it makes you think. The ideas and words aren’t difficult by any means, but there is definitely some brain power anhd processing time required.

Last but not least, tonight we’re taking the kids to go see Wicked! I’m so excited!
