The second of Buford’s memoirs, it’s just as enjoyable and humorous as the first. This one featured a good deal more history, but that’s not a detractor – the recap of history was entertaining and just enough to bring the reader up to speed with the context. As always, Buford sees the humor in every situation. My favorite part of the entire book was the section about étoile insurance: I laughed out loud, then read it to my husband, who also laughed. Peak situational/ real life comedy. Highly recommended for those who enjoy memoirs with humor and a dash of history.
