(Very minor possible spoilers.) I loved this book. It was a super (haha) creative premise, and the execution of the story was brilliant. The concept of “now” vs “then” is such a great way of giving just enough background that the story isn’t straightforward nor plot points revealed too early. It took about 3 rounds for me to realize each time a character was the focus of a “now” chapter, the next chapter would be a “then” chapter explaining their origin. I also wasn’t expecting the reveal of where the virus came from, so that was a nice bonus. Incredibly entertaining and well thought out with compelling characters. The only thing I disliked was the minor mentions of child zombies, but that was brief and unimportant to plot. Great start of a series for those who are fans of horror and superheroes.
