This book was recommended by a friend, and I’m so glad I read it. It’s the first Feminist fantasy I’ve read, and it’s fantastic. The imagry and symbolism were top-notch. I particularly enjoyed comparing the religion (and its corruption) to my own. Fair warning: there is a TON of discussion of blood, so if you’re squeamish, maybe skip this one.
