I honestly didn’t think I’d enjoy this book, but it was a compelling read. This book reads much more like fiction about a drama-ridden family than nonfiction about a pharmaceutical company. I particularly appreciated the full background on the family so that I could understand how attitudes and methods carried over from one generation to the next. Before reading this book, the amount of knowledge I had about the Sacklers was confined to an episode of Last Week Tonight (there are actually 3 episodes), and my interest in the topic was nonexistent. And yet, I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Good read for all, but especially excellent for fans of nonfiction, recent history, and the opioid crisis.
