My gosh, this book was scary. Definitely a page turner. I have to admit, some of the descriptions were too gruesome for me, and I needed to do a bit of skimming. The monster itself wasn’t a problem, but the internal thoughts of the narrator really disturbed me. It’s clear the author did research, which makes the first person narration both believable and terrifying. More than anything, I was reminded of the nonfiction book Columbine as both delve into the psychology of disturbed people. The book definitely accomplishes what it sets out to do, so for that, 5 stars. Absolutely worth reading if you like horror.
